Miami University's basketball teams gave its fans much to cheer about during the 2026 One Miami games, presented by E&H Ace Hardware at Millett Hall on Jan. 31.
A record crowd of 10,640 were on hand to watch two wins from the RedHawks.
In the first game, Miami's women's basketball team improved to a perfect 10-0 in MAC play with its 90-70 win over Ohio University.
Amber Scalia scored a game-high 23 points for the RedHawks and was joined in double figures by four teammates.
Ilse de Vries netted 18 for Miami, while Tamar Singer scored 17, Amber Tretter 13, and Núria Jurjo 10.
With the win, the RedHawks improved to 18-4 overall and rose to 9-0 in games at Millett Hall this season.
Several groups were honored during the games, including the women's and men's basketball alumni, as well as 4.0 GPA students, the field hockey team, and more.
The university also awarded an honorary degree to Miami basketball legend Ron Harper, who is the men's all-time leading scorer.
Harper was drafted in the first round of the 1986 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and went on to a long and distinguished professional career.
Harper starred at guard for Miami from 1982-1986, finishing his career with 2,377 points and 1,119 rebounds. Not only are those program highs, but Harper was the first player in the Mid-American Conference to surpass 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Harper went on to win five NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. He averaged 16.1 points during his NBA career.
Miami's men's basketball team moved to 22-0 with its 85-61 win over Northern Illinois.
Brant Byers paced the RedHawks with 21 points, while Peter Suder scored 19.
The RedHawks rose to No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll after the victory, which put them at 10-0 in the MAC and 13-0 this season at home.
