Miami faces Tennessee in Philadelphia

Miami University's historic men's basketball season came to a close on Friday in Philadelphia during the NCAA Tournament.

The 11th-seeded RedHawks dropped a 78-56 decision to No. 6 Tennessee in a first-round game. Peter Suder led Miami with 27 points.

The RedHawks finished the season 32-2. They were regular-season champions of the Mid-American Conference, went a perfect 31-0 in the regular season, and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. It was the team's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007.

Miami earned the right to face Tennessee with an 89-79 win over SMU in the First Four at Dayton's UD Arena this past Wednesday. It was the RedHawks' first NCAA Tournament victory since 1999 when the program reached the Sweet 16.
