From cellphone photography to robotics coding, Grandparents College offered a special kind of summer school

Programming a Sphero robot to navigate mazes. Exploring the secret lives of bugs. Playing with poetry. More than 200 Miami alumni and their grandchildren shared these experiences and much more during Grandparents College July 15-17, 2025. During their time on Miami University’s Oxford campus, they lived in a residence hall, ate in a dining hall, and attended classes taught by university professors and instructors.

The annual three-day summer program is hosted by the Miami University Alumni Association. Next year’s Grandparents College is July 15-17, 2026.
