Miami University’s 2025 Alumni Weekend, held June 6–8, welcomed Miamians home to Oxford for a heartfelt celebration of old friends, cherished memories, and timeless Miami traditions. More than 1,400 alumni and guests gathered for 80 events — from campus tours and class reunions to broomball and walks uptown. Whether it was a stroll down Slant Walk or a laugh shared over a toasted roll, the weekend stirred memories of college days gone by. This photo essay captures the spirit of it all — the smiles, the hugs, and the Love and Honor to Miami.
The Hub is more than just the heart of campus — it was a popular gathering spot for Miamians throughout Alumni Weekend. And no matter how many alumni made their way down Slant Walk, they all knew one thing: never step on the Great Seal — a small but meaningful act of respect for Miami’s history and values.
The Class of 1975 celebrated their golden anniversary Friday night at Fritz Pavilion in the Armstrong Student Center. In honor of the occasion, class members presented President Greg Crawford with a check for more than $5.3 million to benefit Miami. During a special ceremony, President Crawford awarded each attendee a 50-year medallion.
The 2nd annual Kids Slant Walk Cinnamon Dash took place Saturday morning after the Annual Toasted Roll 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk. Future Miamians ages 12 and under dashed from the Phi Delt Gates to Thobe’s Fountain. At the end of the race, all participants received their own commemorative medal.
Students from the Myaamia Center led a friendly game of lacrosse, or “pakitahantaawi,” on Central Quad below the sundial. Participants had the chance to play with Myaamia wooden lacrosse sticks.
The Upham Arch is arguably the most famous legend alongside the Miami Merger tradition. “If you kiss your true love under the Upham Hall Arch, you will marry and the bond will never be broken.” Miami Mergers gathered for a special reception to meet up with other Merger couples and get a keepsake photo under the arch.
Alumni Weekend’s traditional Parade of Classes kicked off with a lively Parade Party and spirited class roll call. In honor of their five-year reunion — and the tumultuous year they graduated — members of the Class of 2020 served as Grand Marshals. The parade concluded near Hall Auditorium in a flurry of eco-friendly, biodegradable confetti.
After the Parade of Classes, the Miami Men’s Glee Club held a reunion concert at Hall Auditorium. Alongside spirited renditions of “Fight Song” and “Alma Mater,” the group performed selections from popular musicals, spirituals, and original compositions. During the concert, the Glee Club presented its second Kevin Kuethe Spirit of Tradition Award to Dennis Dudley.
Miamians capped off Saturday night at MiamiFest Uptown, where local Oxford restaurants served delicious bites and beverages. Alumni and friends gathered in Uptown Park to enjoy live music from the Bluewater Kings Band.
