Miami University students, faculty, staff, and community members visited Millett Hall on Feb. 1 for One Miami Weekend, which featured a pair of basketball games vs. Ohio University.
One Miami Weekend, presented by E&H Ace Hardware, had a little bit of everything. Student giveaways, postgame autographs, Carnival on the Concourse, and more were part of the afternoon's festivities.
The Miami women's basketball team opened the doubleheader with the Bobcats with a 72-34 victory over a MId-American Conference rival.
Miami's Enjulina Gonzalez was the game's leading scorer with 23 points, followed by Maya Chandler with 17.
Several groups were recognized during the day, including Miami basketball alumni. Wally Szczerbiak, who led Miami to the Sweet 16 in the 1999 NCAA tournament, was in attendance, and several "Wally faces" were handed out for fans to display throughout the afternoon.
The RedHawks completed the afternoon sweep of Ohio with a 73-69 victory.
Peter Suder scored 15 points to lead the RedHawks, followed closely by 14 from teammate Kam Craft.
One Miami Weekend also included a pair of ice hockey games on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 as the RedHawks met Arizona State.
Among the groups honored during One Miami Weekend was the RedHawk football team, which displayed its trophy after winning the Arizona Bowl.
