Miamians and Oxford residents and visitors experienced the April 8 solar eclipse through a variety of watch parties both on campus and around town. University Communications and Marketing's Scott Kissell, Jeff Sabo, Zachary Burnett, Ricardo Treviño, and Jay Murdock captured the bustling activity of the day with photos and video.
Cook Field was a popular location to view the solar eclipse. Totality occurred at 3:08 p.m. and lasted 2 minutes and 51 seconds.
Miami purchased 30,000 eclipse glasses and made them available for students, faculty, and staff. The glasses were delivered to resident halls and could be picked up at Armstrong Student Center, the outdoor seal, and the watch party at Cook Field.
The totality of the eclipse can be seen here just behind Pulley Tower.
These videos let viewers relive the April 8 eclipse.
