On Sept. 14, Miami University's football team played host to the University of Cincinnati at Yager Stadium in the 128th Battle for the Victory Bell game.
Miami fans and players were excited for the matchup, which would (potentially) break the all-time tie in the series, which stood at 60-60-7.
A sellout crowd of 24,717 packed Yager Stadium to witness the game, which saw Cincinnati earn a 27-16 victory, despite RedHawk quarterback Brett Gabbert passing for 339 yards.
In addition to the overall sellout, 8,469 Miami students attended the rivalry game, a new record.
Reggie Virgil and Cade McDonald each caught touchdown passes from Gabbert, while Dom Dzioban kicked a field goal for Miami.
Miami returns to action on the road on Saturday, Sept. 21, against Notre Dame before returning to Yager Stadium on Sept. 28 to face Massachusetts in the Homecoming game.
