Men's and women's basketball teams secured both regular-season conference titles

Miami's basketball teams earned two titles this week, as the men's basketball team claimed its 22nd overall Mid-American Conference championship with a 74-72 win over Toledo on March 3. A day later, the RedHawks earned the MAC women's basketball championship, the program's first title since the 2003-04 season with a 71-52 win over Kent State. Both games were played at Millett Hall.

No. 19 RedHawks rise to 30-0

With the win over Toledo, the No. 19 RedHawks remained the only undefeated team in the country at 30-0. Peter Suder scored 19 points to lead Miami with Antwone Woolfolk adding 14, Brant Byers netting 13, and Luke Skaljac scoring 11.

Miami is also the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament March 12-14 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.

RedHawks set program record for wins

Miami's women's basketball team completed the back-to-back championship nights at Millett Hall with its victory over Kent State. The RedHawks improved to 25-5 overall, setting a new standard for wins in a season.

The RedHawks also rose to 16-1 in conference play and clinched the top seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament at Rocket Arena in Cleveland March 11-14.

Miami also went 14-0 at Millett Hall this season, the first time the RedHawks have finished undefeated at home for the year. Amber Tretter paced Miami with 22 points in the win over Kent State, while Ilse de Vries scored 18 and Tamar Signer added 11.
