2023 Senior Design Expo

On May 4th, Miami University's College of Engineering and Computing celebrated its students at this year's Senior Design Expo, which featured senior projects from all four CEC academic departments.

Students presented not only for the visitors and their grades, but also to compete for a first-place finish and get rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

Chemical, Paper, and Biomedical Engineering (CPB)

First Place: Green Hydrogen Electrolysis by Yi Wang and Nikolas Wilson

Second Place: Spine Simulator by Brianne Pirkins and Haley Sieg

Third Place: Orthopedic Hip Implant Modeling by Matt McKenna, Jessica Flower, Brook Bollinger, Ella Kadlic, Chris MacFarlane, and Fiona Kanis

Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSE)

First Place: Flero++ Web Framework by Baxter Huntington, Raymong Lin, Jose Salinas, Joey Woods, and Wilson Yu

Second Place: Instructional Modeling Language Web Framework by Hannah Duncan, Kim Ha, Kate Keil, and Sophia Staudt

Third Place: Mobile Barcode Scanning – Multiple Simultaneous Barcodes by Myles Bailey, Colin Donovan, Sean Piedmonte, Sakshi Shah, Spencer Townes, and Scott Williams

First Place: Bluetooth-Enabled Intelligent Solar Cells by Justin Chu, Jordan Hamlett, Allison Jacob, Tra Yen Nhu Phan, and Maximillian Schneider

Second Place: Application of Machine Learning to Automated License Plate Recognition for Miami Parking Garage Payment by Lauren Bockelman, Wayne Chaney, Yuxuan Deng, John Doll, Ethan Murphy, and William O'Connell

Third Place: Building an Autonomous Multi-Drone Platform Using RoboMaster TT Drones by Tanmay Bhatkar, Jie Feng, and Rui Yang

Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (MME)
